The Business Analyst will be solving organizational information problems and requirements by analyzing requirements; designing computer programs; recommending system controls and protocols; gaining knowledge of rapidly changing computer technology.
Essential Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities:
Acts as a liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of applications.
Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans; distinguishes user requests from the underlying true needs.
Collaborates with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
Designs new computer programs by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
Recommends controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget.
Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related concentration requiring data analysis.
3+ years’ experience in a business analyst role in a business and systems environment
Experience in desktop operating systems and applications including Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
Experience in gathering data, cleaning data and Excel charts.
