The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst II. This position is part of our Securities & Valuations Office located in New York City. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Defines and Scopes Business Area. Assists in identifying potential risks associated with a new project or a change to an existing system.
Monitors deliverables and deadlines to ensure the requirements plan is properly executed.
Gathers requirements, which includes determining how and where to find these requirements.
Provides analysis and feedback on the appropriateness of the requirements in meeting the goal of the project. Documents business requirements as assigned.
Takes a leadership role in ensuring all issues are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner, working effectively with other analysts and technical staff.
Works closely with business area to recommend a solution. Works with development staff in design, including flow diagrams, GUI interfaces, and report design.
Verifies through testing that applications being developed have met documented business requirements.
Clearly and consistently reports the status of a project to appropriate staff.
Expresses findings and recommendations clearly to differing levels of management, both verbally and in writing.
Skills and Abilities:
Experience with the entire development life cycle and Agile; starting with the analysis, design, construction, and implementation.
Experience in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, VISIO)
Demonstrates the ability of gathering, analyzing and validating requirements through interviews, observation, facilitation, and other proven business analysis techniques.
Ability to work collaboratively and to negotiate successful solutions.
Possesses excellent interpersonal, and customer service skills,
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Demonstrates leadership skills, including excellent team building skills.
Education and Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university and three years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
